Deirdre O’Connor – Writer & Director

Deirdre O’Connor is an independent film director, writer and producer.  After making several short documentaries and writing narrative screenplays, she made her feature directorial debut with the comedy, One Moment (2022), starring Danny Aiello in his final screen performance.   The film won numerous festival awards and secured distribution with Indican Pictures and Magnolia Home Entertainment.  Deirdre’s most recent screenplay, Boondoggle, a comedy about middle aging, is currently in development with a Los Angeles-based production company.

Deirdre is a member of the Alliance of Women Directors (AWD) and New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) organizations; she also holds the rank of professor emeritus of Communication Arts and Film at the State University of New York.

Deirdre is a second-generation Irish-American whose roots trace back to Ashbourne in County Meath.
