Katie Lee Lynch – Screen Writer, Script Editor, Producer
Katie Lee Lynch is a Screenwriter and Script Editor, currently employed as Assistant Producer at Hot Cod Productions. She was Assistant Script Editor on the first season of the Sky Series, “Small Town, Big Story” and is currently working in script development.
She is a Facilitator of the Writers Club, run by the GALPAL Collective and the National Talent
Academies, through which she works with writers to develop their short film scripts over the course of 12 weeks. She is also on the Jury for the Directed by Her screenplay competition. As a longlisted writer for the New Writers Collective at the Edinburgh TV Awards 2025, Katie was selected to serve on the voting panel for the Scripted Categories of this year’s festival. Her own feature film project, “Egg Mayo at the Wake” was selected to pitch to producers at DIFF 2025.
Katie is an occasional lecturer at UCD for the Writing for Stage & Screen Masters programme run by Nicolas Pillai and Mark O’Halloran. In 2024, she was selected to take part in the X-Pollinator programme as a writer. She freelanced in Script Development with MPCA, providing script coverage and script notes.
Katie produced the short film “Why the Sun & Moon Live in the Sky” directed by Aisha Bolaji, which had its Irish premiere at Galway Film Fleadh 2024 and its international premiere at Aesthetica Film Festival 2024. It was nominated for Best Short Film at the Kinsale Shark Awards this year, and won the Best First Time Filmmaker Award at the 2025 Catalyst Film Festival.
Her writing is character-first comedy with an elevated, contemporary Irish sensibility.
